Rocks was doing her usual duties in the clinic and discovered a key drug was missing and needed to discuss the matter with the surgeon. Together they decided to cancel the case and send the patient to the community hospital. Because the clinic had sent two patients out in the week the owner and the manager both had their attention directed at their new Anesthesiologist. Nici, the manager was in a state. Walter, the ortho guy, also had a mood on…and Rocks was getting the brunt of their attitude. Generally in an OR suite, anesthesia is in charge of which cases go and which cases get delayed or cancelled. Rocks made an effort to make these decisions in tandem with her surgeons so that it didn’t seem as though the hit came from her side alone.
Rocks and Luke were on the way to Sugarfire Bay for the weekend with a fully provisioned galley and bar, and she was determined to set boundaries for her practice, island politics aside. Whether that was possible remained to be seen. Meanwhile, they had perfect wind and the sails were set for a short sail for Sugarfire Bay. Only one other matter required attention before they could relax and unwind-Sophia! Luke would leave for Miami on Monday, and THAT WOMAN was a problem for Rocks. They needed to cover that, and what would Luke say to put her mind at ease??
